• Pop!_Planet is still very much under development. Data for the wiki is being sourced from the Arch Linux and Ubuntu wikis, along with a bunch of completely unique content specific to Pop!_OS, and sourcing, converting and updating that content takes time; please be patient. If you can't find what you're looking for here, check the Arch Linux and Ubuntu wikis.
  • Welcome!

I'll get straight to the point.

When I started Pop!_Planet, I launched it because I saw a need for a centralized community for Pop!_OS. To be frank, I never expected the level of popularity it has achieved. Over the last year, we have gone from under 50 users, to almost 400 users. That's awesome! However... it also comes with a downside. We are rapidly running out of disk space on our server, and the bandwidth costs go up every month.

Pop!_Planet is not affiliated with System76 in any way, and is funded completely out of pocket. From day one, I said that I'd never use on-site ads (I hate them as much as you do), so the only monetization we get is through donations. Right now, the donations we receive don't even cover our overhead.

I know that most users will ignore this message, and that's ok. However, if even a few of our users are willing and able to donate a few dollars to help offset our expenses, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Support Pop!_Planet

    Thank you for your time,

well, you can't see it in the gif but, when I press the "appearance" tab, it changes my theme back to pop-dark...
And sad I go back to gnome-tweaks to change my theme back to its awesomeness.

Running NVIDIA installation and dual boot with windows 10.

I'm guessing this one I can't fix... easily?

You could try disabling extensions with Tweaks app, then press "Alt+F2" then "r" and Enter (this will restart Gnome Shell). Or uninstall the themes you have installed previously, as they cam mess the system, because extended theme support in not provided by Gnome still, aside from Vendor themes like Pop_Os theme or Ubuntu's Yaru theme. Vendor themes can change some basic things but not everything. Here some links: https://wiki.gnome.org/GUADEC/2019/Hackingdays/VendorThemes

Ohhh... this makes me think that maybe this has less to do with Pop!_OS and more with the gnome desktop (maybe the same goes for my other "mildly frustrating" post..)
I went ahead and disabled all extensions from gnome tweaks, and removed all other themes from ~/.themes/, (is that what you mean by uninstalling themes? Cuz all I had to do was put them in that folder, and Tweaks recognized them) only left the 'Layan-dark' theme. then restarted gnome with your trick and it kept switching back to pop-dark when I selected the"appearance" tab, but as you said it could be the own theme causing the problem, I tried another theme, and what do you know! The problem went away! You're awesome!

tl;dr
the problem was only with 'Layan-dark' theme, & I feel a little dumb now.

It's very odd to me that themes can alter the OS behaviour like this... Hope that extended theme support might come to gnome eventually!
(I left a comment in the theme's page in https://www.pling.com/p/1309214/, just that)
Thanks, guys!
