• Pop!_Planet is still very much under development. Data for the wiki is being sourced from the Arch Linux and Ubuntu wikis, along with a bunch of completely unique content specific to Pop!_OS, and sourcing, converting and updating that content takes time; please be patient. If you can't find what you're looking for here, check the Arch Linux and Ubuntu wikis.
  • Welcome!

I'll get straight to the point.

When I started Pop!_Planet, I launched it because I saw a need for a centralized community for Pop!_OS. To be frank, I never expected the level of popularity it has achieved. Over the last year, we have gone from under 50 users, to almost 400 users. That's awesome! However... it also comes with a downside. We are rapidly running out of disk space on our server, and the bandwidth costs go up every month.

Pop!_Planet is not affiliated with System76 in any way, and is funded completely out of pocket. From day one, I said that I'd never use on-site ads (I hate them as much as you do), so the only monetization we get is through donations. Right now, the donations we receive don't even cover our overhead.

I know that most users will ignore this message, and that's ok. However, if even a few of our users are willing and able to donate a few dollars to help offset our expenses, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is gonna be one of those "yesterday it worked" posts. Last night I powered through like 5 days worth of software updates, after a quick reboot, full screen stopped working on all 3D accelerated applications (including games), system wide. Is anyone else experiencing this? is there something im doing wrong?

Thanks!

Toggle full screen mode is disabled by default now. If you have Pop-Shell enabled the keyboard combo is super + m to get full screen on windows. Otherwise, you could enable the shortcut and hope it doesn't conflict with anything. These are just suggestions and might not be the cause of your issue. It may be a temporary bug that will get fixed soon. I don't think you're doing anything "wrong" by the sounds of things.

Yeah it doesn't seem to have fixed my issues, however, it looks like a bug in something called "mutter". no saying how long it will take to fix given its a gnome dependency. Is there a way to downgrade the specific mutter package to a working build?

Hello pnelego. I am far to be an expert, but it looks like this bug occur in the 3.38 version. am i right ?
I am not on Pop right now so i cannot see as i haven't found the release note of latest versions (??), but may i ask which one you are currently using ?Ubuntu 20.04 is using Gnome 3.36 and i guess Mutter which the window manager who replaced Metacity in Gnome 3, should be under 3.36 too, but ... never know. Could be different i cannot test it my self, sorry.

As this week it seems, pop is on gnome 3.38.1.
Mutter followed suit:
mutter/groovy,now 3.38.1-1ubuntu1pop0~1606763672~20.10~316cd8c amd64 [installed,automatic]

it looks like the default groovy package is sitting on 3.38 as well now. I'm not sure if Pop automatically pulled that when the other package updated (not really sure how that works), nonetheless there is definitively a broken package on my machine. Is there an easy way to downgrade mutter?

As far as i understood your situation, it could be a - maybe - good idea to get the stable version of POP_OS, by stable i mean 20.04 which is actually the LTS version.
There you'll find a 3.36 version of Mutter i guess. As a mostly Debian (stable) user, if i use Ubuntu i get the LTS version because it is well know as much more stable than the 6th months releases.
Isn't it a point to consider ?
Good luck
Have a nice day
